Can I print a negative?

Postby stampsteve » Mon Jul 02, 2012 6:16 am

I need to be able to "invert" an entire page of text and graphics. Basically a negative printed on vellum. Been using freehand for 12 years never,never had to do this before. Don't really want to switch to Corel or AI.
I manufacture rubber stamps and need the negative for the process. Any ideas?

Stamps, thats just black and white, right? I usually just switch colors for something like that. I mean, building elements with a dark color swatch "A" and background light color "B", when I want it reversed, I make "A" a light color and "B" a dark one.

Just a thought:
1. change all colors to white
2. make a new rectangle with a black fill and the size of "paper" below anything.
3. Print :-)

Other approach:
1. goto Print
2. Options->Freehand
3. Printsettings: settings, on the right side are 3 tabs. The 2nd one (in german "Bildverarbeitung") the are somewhere in the middle 4 radiobutons. The right one are named with positive and negative picture). Try the negative one ;-)
4. Print and look if the result is what you want

Or Export as EPS or pdf, open and raster it in PS and do the negative effect there.
