Some of the FreeHand Xtras that existed in version 5 through to MX were also available as 'illustrator' plug ins which worked as well in Freehand as they did in Illustrator 8 +. These were often 3rd party plug ins. One of the first was was 'Save to export as Illustrator file' which I purchase for FreeHand 3 (that goes way back!). I must admit many had limited usefulness, but some were useful such as 'Letraset envelope distortions' and 'KPT Vector effects'. Both of which I recently downloaded from 'Macintosh Garden' (you can try them on link below) . They will only work under FH5 through to FH9. I mainly use MX now, but I still have the older versions to hand to test 'old' plug ins I occasionally find useful. If any other prof FreeHand user has more 'Xtras' to offer I would be interested to know how many other 'Xtras' were made for FreeHand (as well as Illustrator). Perhaps we can make a list on FreeHand Forum for compatability under emulation or usefullnes. I am sure there are many others I don't know about which readers may have as well.
For KPT Vector effects 1 and Letraset envelopes, you need to drop them in the Xtras folder located within FreeHand folder. I am using FreeHand 5.5 for KPT Effects and FreeHand 9 for Letraset envelopes. I cannot guarantee they will work on a PC as I have only used them on a G3 Mac. The files are 'Stuffitt' (sit) files and not 'zip' files in this (Mac only DMG) archive to try out at your own risk to experiment with.
